Contributing to the VON Project

This section of the documentation is about contributing to the VON Project. If you and/or your team are interested in joining the fun, contact us now and/or read on for some guidance on how to participate.

Of course, if all you want to do is fork the repos and submit issues and/or pull requests, we’re happy with that as well. The practices covered here are if you want to be more tightly tied to the project - joining the team meetings, tracking our sprints, and contributing documentation.

We are using rocketchat for online collaboration. Click here for more on joining the conversation.

The current team meets every second Wednesday at 10AM Pacific, 1PM Eastern for Sprint Planning - let us know if you would like to join us and we’ll add you to the invitation. At that time, we review work accomplished, roadblocks, and work planned for the next Sprint. Sprints are tracked using github issues in the project repos and on zenhub, as described in this document. You need a github account to access ZenHub, or you can see our lists of issues on github:

Content on this Site

Interested in helping maintain this website - the starting point for information about VON? See the guidelines for how to update, correct or expand the information on this site. It’s all run off github, so as with all of the VON code, the documentation is driven by pull requests.

We’ve added some specific information about adding news articles to the site, including a good technique to convert Google Docs to markdown for posting on the site and handling images in the articles.

Code Documentation

We’re using Sphinx to generate code documentation. Information on using Sphinx can be found here.
